HOW MUCH MORTGAGE CAN I GET?

You can normally borrow between four to five times your salary. However, lenders use many different rules and criteria to assess how much you can borrow. To find out exactly how much you could borrow please use the contact form for a no obligation chat.

HOW LONG DOES A MORTGAGE MEETING TAKE?

We normally allow 45 minutes for a mortgage meeting although this could be longer or shorter depending on your circumstances.

WHICH DOCUMENTS DO I NEED?

Your mortgage broker will normally ask you to provide proof of income in the form of salary slips, or the last two or three years of accounts if self-employed. Other documents include: three months of bank statements, one proof of identification and one proof of address. Depending on your circumstances the mortgage company may require more documentation.

HOW MUCH DEPOSIT DO I NEED TO BUY A HOUSE?

It is possible to buy a home with a deposit as little as 5%. However, in the current market the banks and building societies are very strict, meaning that you might find that you need as much as 10%.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET AN AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE?

You can often get an Agreement in Principle (AIP) within a couple of hours of our first meeting. However, this will depend on your circumstances and whether you have your documents to hand.

I’M SELF-EMPLOYED. CAN I GET A MORTGAGE?

You can still get a mortgage if you’re self-employed but often it is more difficult. The way the mortgage companies assess your income will vary and so will the amount they are prepared to lend you. As a mortgage broker, Evoke is experienced in finding the most suitable lender for your personal circumstances.
